tophat - The Watchtower says God is going to destroy all false religion. That is not in the Bible. Who is Babylon the Great? Do we know?
Well, since the great outflux began in the 90's after the 'generation' change, something has to be done to put the fear of the governing body God back into the remaining R&F and new ones. This time they'll tie using the internet directly to those not being delivered - I'm taking bets on it!

my house is so decorated with spider webs,pumpkins,skulls,gravestones, etc.
when i opened the door the crawling hand and candy dishes started thier seperate sounds and music, i just started to laugh.. she didn't introduce herself as one of jehovah's witnesses, she said she was doing volunteer work.
Good points Dave. You never know what impact you may have on others.
bb - Being nervous doesn't necesarily mean she was new. Some people just aren't good at the doors or just don't really like it anyway and are doing the best they can to earn their way into the borgs good graces. Sad, very, very sad.

A very human reaction pc. Now you know how the householders used to feel when we were at their door. It's a ridiculous way to sell magazines anyway. I feel bad for them too ... every time I see those cars in the KH parking lot I just shake my head. And when I see them pio. strolling through the neighborhood I just think ... what a wasted life . I hope they all wake up one day soon.

i finally decided to come out of hiding because i need help.
i post on another board that has nothing whatsoever to do with religion and i saw this post-.
First and foremost ... WELCOME. I lurked for months before joining too and I had already been gone several years.
The note from that woman is just heartbreaking. She has no idea that she is being lied to about everything! You know from reading here how hypocritical the organization is! Sure, there are some good people in the org just as there are anyplace else. The difference is that the Witlesses are all dressed up and parading around on their best behavior for her now. It's not until you're inside that you begin to see the truth and then that depends too on how 'inside' you are. I can't tell you what to tell you but I encourage you ... tell the lady something ... please! I would hate for anybody to give their life over to that organization. It's just no good IMO. I'm with LUNA - people feel they need this but we can be moral human beings by our OWN CHOICE! Minus the pie-in-the-sky-paradise-hope or threats of bloodguilt and eternal destruction.

tonight was the school/service meeting at the kh, and myself and dedpoet drove there at the end of the meeting to see the po.
we didn't go in the hall, we just waited outside the gates for the po to come out, then i handed him my letter, saying it was to get things over with and save the necessity of a jc.
he didn't ask what it was, i think he knew, especially when he saw dp give me the thumbs up sign, but asked me to reconsider, but i said my mind is made up, i am leaving, and i want it out in the open as soon as possible.
Congratulations! I know you must have felt good last night but the BEST is yet to come!

when i joined the jw org.
the truth was that we were separating sheep from goats by preaching door to door.. today this isn't so.. name a few truths that were true back then but are lies today.. .
That the generation that was around in 1914 would not pass away before Armageddon hit. It still blows my mind that the WBTS so brazenly tried to side-step that by conveniently changing their definition of the word "generation".
I'm with you on that one Daystar ... once they made that change there was no need to pretend anymore. I knew for a fact that they could not be inspired by HS and get something like that so fundamentally wrong for so very many years ... and have people putting their lives on hold anticipating a new world . Really pi**ed me off that one did I remember the seperating flip flop a little less passionately than the generation change. Must not of been paying attention very well ... probably didn't get a chance to underline my watchtower . sweet tee

i am a life long witness, and so is my spouse.
several years ago i began reading various internet sites about the history of the orginazation and came to the horrifing conclusion that some things are just not right.
